Sandy Gilbert, Ed.D. Joins Accelify’s California Board of Advisors

Accelify is proud to announce the addition of Sandy Gilbert, Ed.D. to its California Board of Advisors. Dr. Gilbert recently retired from Desert Sands Unified School District (DSUSD) in California. She worked as an educational professional for 39 years, spending the last 10 years as a Program Specialist in Special Education. She now joins Accelify’s California Board of Advisors as part of the effort to help school districts maximize their Medi-Cal reimbursements.

Prior to her position as Program Specialist in Special Education at DSUSD, Dr. Gilbert served as an elementary school principal for DSUSD and for the Anaheim City School District in Orange County. Dr. Gilbert was also a member and president of the Orange Unified School District for one term.
In addition to her work at the district level, Dr. Gilbert has served as a commissioner on the California State Commission on Special Education. She also continues to teach as an Adjunct Professor at University of California, Riverside in numerous subjects, including special education, and she was an Adjunct Professor at Chapman University in California.
A Native of Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Gilbert has a B.A. in English Literature and Spanish from University of Illinois, Chicago, an M.A in Education Administration from California State University, Northridge, an M.S. in Special Education from California Lutheran College, and an Ed.D. in Institutional Management from Pepperdine University.
