Desert Sands Charter School Contracts with Accelify
October 5, 2010
Accelify, LLC is pleased to announce a new contract with Desert Sands Charter School to handle its Medi-Cal Administrative Activities (MAA) claiming program.
Desert Sands is located in Palmdale, California, and provides a campus where students can learn from highly qualified, supportive teachers in a controlled environment. Desert Sands uses a charter school model that tailors the learning program to each student’s individual needs and interests, allowing students to earn high school credits at their own pace.
Like most schools in California and across the country, Desert Sands is deeply affected by cuts to education funding and is looking to the MAA program to bring in additional revenue. “We are looking forward to the partnership with Accelify,” said Skip Hansen, Senior Vice President, Charter Concept Schools. “We feel that the program will help our bottom line in these tough times.”
Accelify has over twenty years of experience with school-based Medicaid/Medi-Cal billing, and is currently working with several charter schools across the country, including Green Dot Public Schools, Confluence Academy, Derrick Thomas Academy, The Don Bosco Centers, Gordon Parks Elementary, Imagine Academy of Careers, Imagine Academy Es and Math, Imagine Academy Academic Success, Imagine Renaissance Academy, Lee A. Tolbert Community Academy, Pathway Academy, Scuola Vita Nuova Charter School, and University Academy. Accelify is also working with a number of California districts, and has already seen considerable success in achieving participation in the Medi-Cal programs, which is the key driver for increasing Medi-Cal reimbursements. In just the first quarter of effort, Accelify has increased Sweetwater Union High School District’s Medi-Cal participation by over 25%, ensured more than 90% participation in Green Dot Public Schools, and achieved 100% participat ion for Travis Unified School District.
“Our experience with charter schools and districts across the country has proven how valuable the Medi-Cal programs can be, especially in this time of economic instability,” said Alex Brecher, COO, Accelify. “We are confident that our proprietary technology solution paired with our personnel’s expertise will ensure that Desert Sands Charter School gets the most out the MAA program.”
Accelify is committed to providing the highest level of service in order to help school districts and local education agencies simplify the claiming process and receive their full shares of Medi-Cal reimbursement revenues. In order to stay at the forefront of educational and Medi-Cal related issues in the state, Accelify has a California Board of Advisors. The members’ diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise provide insight and guidance on industry developments and business strategies as they relate to the complexities of Medi-Cal billing. Current board members include former State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Delaine Eastin; former Assembly Member, Marilyn Brewer; former California Education Secretary and Assemblywoman Kerry Mazzoni; and former Indiana Attorney General Jeff Modisett.
