Accelify Welcomes Richard Ieyoub to its Board of Advisors

December 22, 2010

Accelify, LLC is pleased to announce that former Louisiana Attorney General, Richard Ieyoub, has joined its National Board of Advisors. Ieyoub served seven years as district attorney of Calcasieu Parish and three terms as Louisiana Attorney General. He is currently with Hymel, Davis and Petersen, a law firm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

“We are thrilled to have someone with Richard’s experience on our National Board of Advisors,” said Alex Brecher, COO of Accelify, LLC. “As attorney general, Richard created several very successful programs designed to protect children, such as the creation of a unit to target sexual predators on the internet, a statewide school safety program, and statewide campaigns to curb drunk driving and underage drinking. His extensive knowledge of state and federal programs and law, as well as his dedication to the well-being of children make him ideally suited to help us with our goal of improving education.”

Ieyoub’s notable accomplishments during his tenure as attorney general include spearheading the formulation of parens patriae, a policy that allows the state to sue on behalf of its citizens, and which led to a  multimillion dollar tobacco settlement for Louisiana for the health care costs of smokers. Ieyoub was also involved in the fight against narcotics abuse through the Louisiana Coordinating Council on the Prevention and Treatment of Drug Abuse, and his office has been nationally recognized for combating underage drinking and drunk driving.

Ieyoub has said that his goal was to create "initiatives that protect our children and help our children lead a better quality of life.” To this end he established a nationally recognized statewide school safety program that coordinated efforts between law enforcement and school administrators. He also set up a specialized unit that targets sexual predators on the internet.

“I am honored to be named to Accelify’s National Board of Advisors,” said Ieyoub. “The education of our children has always been very important to me, and the services offered by Accelify can ensure that our nation’s school districts obtain the necessary funding to provide students with the best possible education.”

Accelify’s National Board of Advisors plays an important role in helping the company stay at the forefront of education and Medicaid-related issues. With state and local funding in crisis, school executives are pursuing all possible reimbursements for expenses incurred in serving their special needs students. Even though districts are entitled to Medicaid reimbursements, these programs remain widely untapped resources, with many districts claiming just 1/3 to 1/2 of their available reimbursements.  With the guidance of its board members, Accelify will continue to increase awareness of these programs and help more districts across the country access these critical funds.
