Accelify Signs Medi-Cal Billing Contract with Mojave USD
October 18, 2010
Accelify, LLC is pleased to announce a new client relationship with Mojave Unified School District (MUSD). The district has signed a contract with Accelify to handle its Medi-Cal Administrative Activities (MAA) and Local Education Agency (LEA) Medi-Cal Billing Option claiming programs.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with Mojave Unified School District,” said Accelify COO, Alex Brecher. “Our proven ability to increase Medi-Cal reimbursements will allow Mojave to direct funds to areas of need, and I believe that the district will benefit greatly from the expertise we will bring to the management of its MAA and LEA Medi-Cal Billing Option programs.”
MUSD is located in Eastern Kern County and serves California City and the town of Mojave. The district has approximately 3,000 students in eight schools, with 10% of the population on Individualized Education Plans. MUSD is recently under new leadership, having named Aaron Haughton as its new Superintendent at the end of last school year. Haughton faces a worthy challenge, as five MUSD schools are in Program Improvement status, which is a federal requirement for schools that have not met goals for progress on test scores. Increased funding from Medi-Cal would help the district reach its education goals. “In a time of shrinking budgets we are looking to maximize every available resource, including the Medi-Cal programs,” said Haughton. “We welcome Accelify as our partner in this effort.”
With over 20 years of experience in school-based Medicaid, Accelify provides superior service in order to help school districts and local education ag encies take advantage of these important funding programs. Accelify’s California Board of Advisors keeps the company on the frontlines of education and Medi-Cal-related issues in the state. Current board members include Aleita J. Huguenin, Western States Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee; Sandy Gilbert, Ed.D, former Program Specialist in Special Education for the Desert Sands Unified School District; and Stephen Blake, Former Executive Director of the Governor’s Committee on Education Excellence. The vast experience of the board members provides Accelify with insight on industry developments and business strategies as they relate to the complexities of Medi-Cal billing. With the board’s expertise Accelify is able to simplify the claiming process and increase participation so school districts can receive their full shares of Medi-Cal reimbursement revenues.
Accelify is currently working with a number of districts in California including Sweetwater Union High School District, the largest high school district in the country; Green Dot Public Schools; and Travis Unified School District. In just its first quarter, Accelify has increased Sweetwater’s Medi-Cal participation by over 25%, ensured more than 90% participation in Green Dot, and achieved 100% participation for Travis.
