Accelify Announces Acquisition of Special Education Information System
May 16, 2011
Acceli fy, LLC announced today the acquisition of Special Education Information System (SEIS), the leading IEP management system in the state of California. SEIS was developed by the San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE) and its Center for Educational Development and Research (CEDR) department. Since its launch in 2003, it has proven to be an effective tool for managing the IEP development process for both teachers and administrators, including 89 SELPAs and over 850 school districts across the state of California.
“The San Joaquin County Office of Education and CEDR Systems had been searching for a corporate partner that would allow us to devote more resources to continue to enhance this successful program. Additionally, many districts and SELPAs were ready to take advantage of this program but additional implementation resources were necessary to provide near term availability,” said Dr. Mick Founts, SJCOE Superintendent of Schools. “With Accelify’s management expertise and superior technology solutions we can now provide enhanced customer support, quicker implementation, and more of the features that our clients have been asking for. We are very excited about the possibilities that this partnership brings.”
As part of the purchase, existing SJCOE/CEDR staff will continue to manage the SEIS program for at least the next two years. Customers will also retain all the rights under their existing contracts.
“California schools have embraced the SEIS program and made it the most widely used system in the state. We are thrilled to be chosen by SJCOE/CEDR to help further enhance the program,” said Alex Brecher, CEO of Accelify. “We share the same service orientation as SEIS and customers can expect the same or increased levels of services and resources, as well as significant product enhancements in the coming months.”
