Q&A with Featured Educator, Sade Wade
Accelify: What made you go into special education?
Sade Wade (SW): I enjoy supporting the work that helps our most vulnerable population. I remember being able to use Medicaid Reimbursement to purchase playground equipment for a school that did not previous have the budget to do so; the look on the children’s faces made all the hard work worth it.
Accelify: What do you love most about your job?
SW: Beyond supporting great work and helping children, I love the numbers. I, like most self-proclaimed nerds enjoy a good spreadsheet scrub or data dive.
Accelify: What has been your experience working with Accelify?
SW: Accelify has helped me achieve work life balance. I remember working in Medicaid a while back and having to type in 1500 forms and it was awful, so this system is awesome. I have also appreciated the work that Accelify does over and beyond their scope; they truly become a member of your team.
Accelify: What advice would you give to others looking to maximize their Medicaid program?
SW: Take advantage of Exceptions Reports!
Accelify: What advice would you give to others looking to implement special education management systems?
SW: Create a backwards plan and look at your end game first; work from there. As I’m looking into purchasing another module I had to have my team take a good look at what we really need to make our program grow and not just for the next year but the next five years.
Accelify: What has been your greatest success using Accelify’s systems?
SW: I would say using the tool to generate more revenue. When you work in the Medicaid, field revenue is a way of tracking how well your program is doing. Since I have been using Accelify we have increased our revenue each year.
Accelify: How has Accelify made your job easier or helped you do your job better?
SW: The one aspect of my job the Accelify has made easier is the reporting functions. I can easily pull documents repeatedly without having to pivot table and search out information. It is all there and at your fingertips; I probably use the revenue reports at least once a week.
Accelify: Do you believe the Accelify’s systems have a positive impact on students? If so, please explain.
SW: Yes, beyond the fact that there system supports the work their Acceli-Schedule module allow you to build schedules around your students schedules so providers aren’t pulling students out of class at inconvenient times of the day. This module also allows you to group students based on interest and being able to work well together; which provides a better group session environment.
Accelify: How is Accelify different than other vendors/systems you’ve worked with?
SW: Accelify is different because most days I forget that they are a vendor; they are truly a part of our team.
