House Lawmakers Approve Changes To Americans With Disabilities Act – AcceliBEAT Weekly Round Up
February 23, 2018
Despite disability advocacy groups fighting the pending ADA Education and Reform Act last week, this week the bill passed with a vote of 225 to 192, raising concerns that disability rights will be pushed back to before ADA protections were in place. Also in disability-related news, new research suggests that autism could one day be diagnosed with blood and urine tests, which would mean earlier intervention and treatment for children with ASD. In other news, a FL school district creates a permanent sensory room to provide a safe space for non-verbal students who become overstimulated, only a small percentage of parents in a study report securing future care for their children with disabilities, and private investments are expanding access to preschool in a Utah school district. Plus, we’re sharing what some of our customers had to say about Accelify! All this and more in this week’s AcceliBEAT.
