Proms Expected to Draw over 100,000 with Special Needs

More than 650 churches around the globe are set to welcome teens and adults with disabilities for a series of special proms all planned on a single night this month.

Each of the events will feature a red carpet with “friendly paparazzi,” hair and makeup stations, shoe shining, limousine rides, karaoke, dinner and a dance floor. All attendees are crowned king or queen of the prom.

The events, which organizers say will draw over 100,000 people with disabilities, are part of the Tim Tebow Foundation’s annual “Night to Shine.” Proms will be held Friday and are open to those 14 and older with special needs.
